Cycling
Cycling is a popular mode of travel on Mayne Island.
At only 5km wide and 8 km long you can cycle the Island in a day.
A scenic 25km loop takes you by many of the Island's attractions.
Cycling is on narrow paved roads and is a mix of flat and hilly terrain. Mayne Island is the ferry hub for the Southern Gulf Islands which makes
the Blue Vista Resort the perfect base for cyclists touring the Islands.
Hike a trail or take a stroll in a Park
Hike up to the view point on Mount Parke or out to Campbell Point.
Stroll around Georgina Point Lighthouse Park or visit the Japanese Gardens in Dinner Bay Park.
Beachcombing and Swimming
Explore the intertidal life on the rocky shores of Bennett Bay or Oyster Bay
at low tide. Take one of our guide books along to identify what you see.
Take a swim at the sandy beach at either Bennett Bay Park or beautiful Campbell Bay.
Wildlife Watching
With its abundant wildlife, Mayne Island is a paradise for those who
enjoy wildlife viewing year round. The diverse collection of species
changes with the seasons. We can point you in the direction of the best
viewing locations on the island or on the water and help with identification.
Sea Kayaking
Experience the magnificent scenery and wildlife of the
Mayne Island area by Sea Kayak. Our guests tell us over and

Mayne Island is home to many crafts people and artisans. Take a tour of a glass
foundry or a potter's workshop or stop at a shop with an assortment of gifts made
on Mayne Island. Pick-up a Guide and Map at the resort office. Happy shopping!

Visit a Museum
Mayne Island has a rich history. Visit the Museum (open summer weekends and holidays)
located in a building that was once the a jail! Then take a historical walk around
Miners Bay and see some of original buildings dating back to the 1890s.
Golfing
Golf courses are located on Galiano, Pender and Saltspring Islands.
Courses are nine holes. Regular ferry service enables you to get a round in
and return to Mayne Island the same day or a water taxi can usually be arranged.
