Activities

There is lots to do on Mayne Island - for a day or a week!

Cycling

Cycling is a popular mode of travel on Mayne Island. At only 5km wide and 8 km long you can cycle the Island in a day. A scenic 25km loop takes you by many of the Island's attractions. Cycling is on narrow paved roads and is a mix of flat and hilly terrain. Mayne Island is the ferry hub for the Southern Gulf Islands which makes the Blue Vista Resort the perfect base for cyclists touring the Islands.

Hike a trail or take a stroll in a Park

Hike up to the view point on Mount Parke or out to Campbell Point. Stroll around Georgina Point Lighthouse Park or visit the Japanese Gardens in Dinner Bay Park.

Beachcombing and Swimming

Explore the intertidal life on the rocky shores of Bennett Bay or Oyster Bay at low tide. Take one of our guide books along to identify what you see. Take a swim at the sandy beach at either Bennett Bay Park or beautiful Campbell Bay.

Wildlife Watching

With its abundant wildlife, Mayne Island is a paradise for those who enjoy wildlife viewing year round. The diverse collection of species changes with the seasons. We can point you in the direction of the best viewing locations on the island or on the water and help with identification.
