Welcome to Blue Vista Resort on Mayne Island

Your Hub for Exploring and Enjoying British Columbia’s Southern Gulf Islands

Nestled in the pristine waters of the Salish Sea, Mayne Island, lies midway between Vancouver and Victoria, two of Canada’s greenest and most exciting cities. Mayne is closer than you think…a relaxing 45 minute ferry ride from either Vancouver or Victoria or only a 20 minute float plane ride from Vancouver. It is also the transportation hub of the Southern Gulf Islands.

Family Owned and Operated

Relax in Comfort at Blue Vista Resort

Our nine fully furnished housekeeping cottages are nestled beneath towering trees and offer year-round clean and affordable comfort. The cottages lie a brief walk from the rock-pool filled coastline of Bennett Bay and just a 10 minute stroll to the child friendly Bennett Bay beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore.

Since the 1960s, family-run Blue Vista Resort has provided year-round visitors a refuge from the busy world. The previous decade saw major upgrades and modernizations to the entire resort. A children’s play centre now complements the sunny picnic, barbeque and lawn areas and the recent upgrades to the cable TV and WIFI ensure a fast broadband connection to the world you thought you had left behind.

We encourage you to view the Blue Vista website further and check out details of our individual cottage features, the rates and reservation policies, group bookings, special events and pet policies (only certain cottages are pet-friendly).

The Magee-Miller Family are the proud owners of the Blue Vista Resort.

How to Get Here

Boat

Mayne Island is a short ferry ride from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) or Victoria (Swartz Bay). Ferries carry vehicles, motorcycles, kayaks, bikes and foot passengers. Reservations are recommended if coming from Vancouver (Tsawwassen), especially in the summer. Ferry schedules and costs can be found at www.bcferries.com or by calling 1-888-BCFERRY.

Automobile

If you are driving, follow Village Bay Road from the ferry terminal, turn right on Fernhill, stay left on Bennett and turn right on Arbutus Drive. (Enlarge map below for details). Watch for the signs along the road! We are at the end of the road in a quiet park like setting.

Plane

Air transportation is available by floatplane. Sea Air offers daily flights from Vancouver and Seattle. Fares vary. See www.seairplanes.com or call 1-800-447-3247.
